Obituary of William Sidney Abernathy

Mr William Sidney Abernethy III, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 23, 2022 at The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge in Blowing Rock, NC. He was born December 12, 1938 in Charlotte, NC to WS Abernethy Jr and Dorothy Bloodworth Abernethy. Sid served in the Air National Guard from 1957-1963 where he learned to be a mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors and often spent time on his Uncle Jesse's farm. He loved his Lord and was a member of Ashe County Worship Center. He was a loving husband and father, generous and always willing to help. He is survived by his wife Kay; son Scott and wife Donna; grandchildren Carlyn and Tyler and wife Charity; great grandchildren Fredrick, Alastair and Adelaide; brother John and wife Judy; sister Margaret Hough. Memorial service will be 3:30pm on July 23 at the Ashe County Worship Center in West Jefferson, NC.
