Obituary of Ranzy Howard Woodring

Ranzy Howard Woodring, age 84 of Boone, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 22 2022 at Watauga Medical Center. Born January 23, 1937 in Watauga County, he was a son of Ranzy and Vesta Phillips Woodring. Howard was an avid outdoorsman, coon hunting, deer hunting and fishing. He passed his love of the outdoors on to his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amanda Norman; and three sisters, Edith Tester, Jewel Greene, and Geneva Woodring. Howard is survived by his wife, Tempie Ellison Woodring, and children Trish Torres (Richi), Larry, Tommy, and Paul Woodring; grandchildren Regina Painter (Steve) of Waynesville, Joseph Woodring and Alan Mast, Ethan, and Grayson Miller, all of Boone; brother, Clay Woodring (Betty); and two sisters Paris Jenkins and Shirley Hayes. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A private graveside service was held Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 at Hopewell United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. David Cooper ad Rev. Jerry Moretz.
