Tim and Vicki,
I’m so sorry to see Haden has passed, I have fond memories of him coaching baseball and when I moved back to NC I made a point to go see him and he seemed to be very happy while sitting in his garage relaxing. May God be with your entire family during this difficult time.

When great-uncle Hade died, another one passed from the Greatest Generation group. He was from a rare breed of raw, homegrown, true American soldiers of the WWII era. Somewhere in the background of the definition of tough, his name is etched ! From the time he was a little Blue Ridge mountain boy, to a tall soldier in the heat of battle, to a fast driving, fun loving relative, to a smiling, slower, stubborn hero he was leaving deep footprints in this world. THANKS . . . . for showing us what words like perseverance, toughness, stubbornness, kindness, and laughter really mean. And,thank you, for what you meant to us, to our country and to those gone before you. Anita M. Haas (Melba's daughter)

I have many good memories of Hayden. Not only was he my golfing buddy, but he was a true friend to.me..When we went on our golfing trips he would always ride with me, but if he ever wanted to drive you better hang on. He had a great sense of humor, quick temper but would soon regain his composure. He could always make me laugh. He told my wife (Louise) once when we were in Pinehurst on a golf trip.d " You don't have to tell anybody this, but I really think the world of Jim Greene. Louise responded by saying: " Hayde Jim Greene thinks the world of you to." He will truly be missed, but always remembered just the way he would want to be. Our love to all the family. Keep those good memories in your heart. How could one forget. He was just Hayden.Love U Buddy. Jim and Louise Greene

I am so sorry to hear of Hade passing. I have wonderful memories of him and the entire family.
Hade coaching us in baseball, going camping in the great smoky mountains and many family trips to Myrtle Beach.
We are losing a wonderful and brave generation of the Cook and extended families.
Raising and protecting all of us cousins as if we were all brothers and sisters.
Thank you Hade. Rest in Peace.
Doug Cook
