Obituary of David Reed Brown

David Reed Brown, age 76, of Jordan Road, Conway SC formerly of Boone, NC went to his heavenly home on Saturday August 28, 2021 at Conway Medical Center. He was born on March 27, 1945 in Boone, North Carolina. He was the first born of six children to Kenneth and Beatrice Beach Brown. David was a member of Perkinsville Baptist Church for over 40 years also serving as a deacon and usher. David spent many years managing variety stores where he met and befriended many in his community. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served in Colorado Springs, CO in the mid 1960's. In recent years he loved working outside and could often be found resting under a nearby shade tree! Next to his relationship with Jesus Christ, his family meant the world to him, especially his seven grandchildren! Not only did he love his family by blood, but the many others whose paths crossed his along the way.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, David "Reed" Brown Jr of Conway, SC. His step-children who he loved as his own, Piper Ward Woodring and husband Steve, of Boone, Chuck Ward and wife, Marti of Hickory and Sean Ward of Boone. His daughters-in-law, Tracy Scheuermann Brown of Little River, SC and Melinda Arnett Ward of Fleetwood, and his grandchildren, Tripp and Keegan Brown, Callie Woodring Crump and husband Matt, Ethan Woodring, Ali Ward, Madyson and Ian Ward and one great granddaughter, Lizzie Mak Crump. His sisters, Wanda Winkler and husband Dale of Vilas, and Margie Jackson of Mill Springs. His Brother Michael Brown and wife Tonya, of Boone, and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, also his wife Rosalind Covington Brown, and his wife Maxie Hicks Ward Brown. His two sisters, Geraldine Brown Culler and Illa Jean Brown Greene.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 4th at 12:00 PM at Perkinsville Baptist Church in Boone NC. It will be officiated by Lead Pastor Seth Norris and Reverend Harold Bennett. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens in Boone. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 o'clock at Perkinsville Baptist Church.
