I have fond childhood memories of Bill working with my dad at Southern Bell. He was always welcoming and often lifted me into the seat of his line truck which was a exciting thing for a young boy. Years later my dad commented that Bill was really good at his job and also a very good man. I am praying that our Lord will comfort and strengthen the family in coming days. Joedy Eller

My thoughts and condolences are with Bill's family. I was very sad to hear of his passing. Even though he lived a long life. Bill and I are cousins as our father's were brother's. The last time I saw Bill was in 2008 at his brother Charles funeral in Enka NC. Before Fontana lake we lived across the ridge from each other. Then like everyone else in the area we all went to different parts of the world. I won't be able to attend service but my thoughts are with you. Richard Stanberry

Valerie, Moe, Will, Anna, Turner and Lina, "Mr. Bill," was a great man! I cannot find words to adequately describe his kindness and wonderful personality. He had a big, wonderful, soft heart that made a smile come to my face every time I thought of him. Bill was the grandfather of my son-in-law, William, and the great-grandfather of my grandchildren, Turner and Lina. The impact he had on his grandson and great-grandchildren will be forever imprinted upon their hearts and minds. I'm sure he was loved by every person that ever met him. He will certainly be missed.
