I am a native of Watauga County with family lines going back to the founding of the town of Boone and though I no longer live there, I am just heartbroken for the loss of these two young men. I have a son who is Logan's age and my heart breaks for his family for both family's. There is no loss so great as that of one's child. I know the whole town mourns for these two young men. My family and I send our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to these families for the sacrifice they have made. I am a nurse and work closely with law enforcement in the ER quite often and the jobs that are expected of our public servants is a heavy burden that becomes more and more perilous as every year goes by. May God bless your family and bring comfort during this difficult time. Thank you Logan for your sacrifice........

My deepest condolences to the Fox family, his love Anneliese, and all members of the Watauga County police department.
Even back in high school, Logan’s sweet nature and kind soul radiated. I’m so thankful for the time I got to spend with Logan and his father on our summer high school trip to Italy - an experience I still vividly remember to this day (including the unbelievable kindness they both showed me as I was struggling being away from home as a 15 year old).
Logan is and always will be a true hero and I thank him for his bravery and service. He spread joy and love with him wherever he went, and made such a positive impact on the whole community.
Logan, you will never be forgotten. I will continue to pray that God brings peace and comfort to your family and loved ones.

Was so saddened by the events of last week when our ( Watauga Co ) deputies died. I had met Deputy Fox when he answered a call about 3-4 mo's ago to help with someone who was messed up on drugs and walking in the highway. Deputy Fox was very professional yet compassionate and caring to see that the young man received the help that he needed. We had a good conversation and it was heartwarming and kind of uplifting to see that in LE these days. These men and women are our only defense on the frontline of societies woes. Our Deputies will be missed and never forgotten!
