I noticed this entirely by chance and would like to extend my condolences to the family of this remarkable woman. I had the privilege of being in her home many years ago as one of her daughter's friends, and she was a most gracious hostess. This was in Chicago, and warm welcoming homes such as the Kwiatkowski home were rare.
Sitting around the table today and listening to favorite opera arias, Mieszko singing (?) along. A gift from Babusz. When my mom was living with us Mieszko would go to her room after school and close the door. We could hear all manner of muffled sounds emanating. Mieszko acquired his love of opera listening to local cable arts channel with her.
