I worked Christmas trees for Ronnie almost Every year since I was 18. He was and will always be a great man. He helped me in more ways than I can count as a person and as a human. He helped me grow as a man and I will miss him. Every time I see a Christmas tree I will think of carrying a big spruce sapling out of a holler for Mr Ronnie. With all my love. Rest In Peace

Ronnie was a wonderful man, the salt of the earth.
My experience knowing him over the years was always good.
He took the time to answer my landscaping questions with the patience of Job
What a privalege and an honor to have known such a saint on this side of eternity
-We'll see you on the other side.
To the family:
The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord make His face shine upon you
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you
and give you peace

We were extremely saddened to hear about Ronnie's passing. We recently moved away from Seven Devils, but for 12 years, we looked forward to seeing his smiling face. He would always stop to say hello and chat for a few minutes as he was driving by. I have a number of great Ronnie stories. About 10 years ago, there was a terrible Christmas Day ice storm on the mountain. We had so many downed limbs, that Ronnie parked his dump truck in our driveway and we spent the next two days filling it up. He didn't charge us a dime. Another time, my wife and one of her girlfriends were trying to drive up the mountain in a light snow, but they couldn't make it. So they called Ronnie, who drove down in his truck and rescued them. They still talk about that adventure and what a great man he was. He had a such a huge heart and a love for the Lord. He will always be in our hearts and dearly missed. Our deepest condolences to his wife and family.

He was a shining star upon the mountain he loved so much, and he will be missed by all of us who were blessed to have known him. He is now flying high upon Eagles’ wings into the arms of our Lord. This community has lost one of the most gentle, caring men. He will be missed. So heartbreaking when I heard the news of Ronnie Duckworths death.
I have never met a nicer person. He did work in my yard and was always dependable and honest.
Gone to soon.

We send our condolences to the family. Ronnie will be missed by people all over the High Country! He was a true Ambassador for Christ, living out his faith in everyday life. We so appreciate the great stonework he did for us. The Lakes Community POA has appreciated his outstanding service in maintaining our common property and helping the community in countless ways. To say that he will be missed is a huge understatement!

Ronnie has left such a great testimony. He loved his Lord and served him faithfully. He loved everyone and would help anyone anytime. If the church doors were open, he was there. He witnessed to anyone he could trying to win their soul for the Lord. Ronnie was also a great family man. He adored his family. His workers were family. Ronnie was a very humble man, never thinking he was doing something anyone else would do also. He rejoiced when our grandchildren were saved, just as we did. He will be greatly missed. But God called him home for a reason. We won't know why right now. But God does. We trust that we can see him again, if we are saved by the grace of God. That's what Ronnie enjoyed most, working for the Lord. Debbie and all the family, we love you. Hold tight to the Lord for comfort. He is there thru our darkest hours. Cindy and Eddie Guy

We were so saddened to hear of Ronnie's passing. We're sure Heaven is a little sweeter with Ronnie being there! Mike has told about fond memories of being at Ronnie's house so many times when he was growing up. Ronnie taught him how to ride a horse. He said the first time he got on a horse, it took him through a briar thicket and about killed him. Ronnie told him he needed to get right back on and try again! He was such a sweet spirited man and I first meant him working at Taylor's store many years ago. I know he will be truly missed. Prayers for the family. We Love you all!

My memory of Ronnie is like hundreds others I am sure. I owned Bear Creek Traders in Foscoe and when I lost my husband Ronnie sent his workers to weed eat around the store, he patched holes in my parking lot and refused to take money, and would stop by after work to check on me periodically. He also plowed snow at Watauga River Overlook where I live. Ronnie's passing is a tragic loss for our entire community. He restored your faith in human-kind. My heart goes out to his wife and children who must be feeling the loss more acutely.

Our heartfelt condolences to you Debbie and also to your family. We love you dearly. Since we met you & Ronnie, that Sunday at Grace Baptist Church in 2015, we’ve enjoyed our time spent with y’all in church (at Grace & Victory) and also our lunch & dinner dates full of love, laughter and sweet talks about Jesus. Our lives have been blessed by knowing you & Ronnie. The bond is a sweet one and we treasure it. Ronnie put his heart in everything he did, always trusting God and giving Him the glory. He was the most kind, humble, giving and dedicated person we’ve ever known … a wonderful man and Christian example. He ended many a sentence with “God will bless you for it” and our lives are forever impacted & enriched by him and his testimony. He will be greatly missed. Love, Buddy & Cheryl Edge
