Obituary of Edwin Dewey Greene

Edwin Dewey Greene, age 89, of Lenoir, passed away February 21, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born November 7, 1931 in Caldwell County to the late Dewey and Susie Luzenia Harmon Greene. Mr. Greene graduated Happy Valley High School in 1949 and attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Edwin was in the Air Force and later retired from work as an accountant. He was a well-known resource for genealogy research; if anyone wanted to know ancestry or genealogy information they would say “ask Edwin Greene”. He will be missed by many. Survivors include numerous cousins. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Blue Ridge Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and masks will be required. Serving as pallbearers will be members of Mr. Greene’s family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to one’s charity of choice.
