I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Ann, she was just such a sweet, caring woman who saw the world through a caregivers eye and a loving heart. She also had the nerve to say it like she saw it and I think I admired that quality just the most! It is so rare to run across a person with all those traits all rolled up in one and I am glad I got to know her when she was at her best and most sassy. i know her family will miss her terribly but pray that they come to remember her with smiles and laughter in the coming days.

I knew Ann from the shoe plant and the wellness center. We shared many good laughs. At the wellness center we always laughed about how bad she hated exercising but she didn’t want to waste her son’s money. I think she may have wasted her son’s money but she had fun.
Ann was a good friend and will be missed. May God bless and console you family.

You needed to know why I yelled “That’s My Mammy!!!”
I did not do it to embarrass you. I know that you did not like it when I did it at the church. I know that you did not like it when I would do it at family gatherings either. I know that you did not like it when I sped past you to get in my driveway so I could be waiting for you when you drove by to yell it. I did it because I genuinely wanted to tell it so loud that the whole world would hear me say it. I did not have a mountain top to tell it off. I just had special moments with you. I wanted them to know when I yelled it. It was because of those phone calls you and I had when I lived in Georgia. How special they made me feel how your words and voice were your way of yelling back to me “That’s my T.J.!” When you would just listen to me on the days that I would talk about my frustrations with my job. Or you had let me brag to you on how I felt I was doing with my job. You always gave voice and an ear. You did more than just talk with your grandson you made his homesickness better and brought the light out in the cloudiness. The times I know that you stuck up for me with Papaw. Whether I deserved it or not you were there to help with the voice of “George!” Whatever he was saying that would put the end of it. I wanted them to hear me yelling it for them to know how proud and special I felt to have you as my Mammy! Know that I did not do it to embarrass you. Know that I was proud to tell anyone who would listen to me “That’s my Mammy!!!” I love you so much, Mammy. For now, Mammy this is goodbye, but I know that you will always be with us in our hearts that you have helped make so full of love and happy memories for us to treasure forever. We know Papaw “George” has been waiting for you but do not let him start ordering you around, it is your turn for him to wait on you. 02/02/2021
