Ted Walter LaBedz, 71, of Stuart, FL, passed away suddenly at his home in Boone, NC on December 25, 2020. Ted was a onfirmed and devout member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stuart, FL and attended the Church of the Holy Cross, Valle Crucis, when residing in NC. On the day of his Savior's birth, Ted shed his earthly body and entered eternity after watching his favorite Christmas movie, "It's a Wonderful Life." Ted is predeceased by his parents, Walter Edward and Genevieve Hennis LaBedz. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kelley Haddox LaBedz, who he met in 2013 and married in 2018, in NC. Ted is also survived by daughter Stephanie LaBedz (Miles Melka) of Chicago; sons Nicholas and Michael LaBedz of Louisville, KY; three brothers, Gary, (Robin) of Arlington Hts, IL, Ralph (Micki) of McHenry, IL and Roger LaBedz of Chicago; one niece and three nephews. Ted was born in Chicago, IL on January 9, 1949. He graduated from Leo Catholic High School in Chicago and Bradley University, Peoria, IL After serving in the US Air Force in Korea, he earned a Masters degree in Health Care Administration from Arizona State University. Ted was an executive with several health care organizations before retiring to FL where he was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing trivia and watching football and golf tournaments. He especially loved visits from his children and walking the family rescue dog, Cavendish, and taking him to the local dog park in Stuart. The family would like to thank The Kane Center, Stuart, and the VA for their care and support. A celebration of Ted's life will be held later this year when it is safe to gather.
