Susie and Fred were dear friends of ours especially at Emerald Isle, NC. This is where we had a home across from theirs. It was a beautiful time with them and the growing up of our children. They learned so much from Susie and Fred. She always had an open door and an open heart! After Fred’s death she was just as upbeat and acceptable as ever. We regret we lost physical touch in the last year and half but know that she is now in the arms of God and her dear Fred.
Just found out about Susie’s passing! I’m terribly sad, we so loved her! They befriended us at Emerald Isle after we purchased a property across the street from her and Fred. We became friends and they came and visited us in Smithfield, Nc... we also stayed with them in Boone. She loved my husbands cooking! After Fred passed we kept in touch by remembering birthdays by sending cards and occasional phone calls. We are very sad!!
We were very sad to learn recently of Susie's passing. She was a very kind and compassionate neighbour to us during the ten years that we knew her.

Susie Miller what a wonderful lady she was. She was as young as who she was talking and visiting with. She never judged anyone and her advice was “right on” to anyone she was visiting with. She was frail, but understood life as well as anyone I have ever known. Susie was a beautiful lady, that you never saw her without her hair done and her lipstick on.
I loved Susie and I am so glad we were friends.

Susie Miller has been one of my best friends for over 25 years. She was beautiful inside and out and everyone loved her so much! If you had a problem, you could always talk to Susie about it and know that she would keep your secrets. Susie was also my prayer warrior and I always knew I could count on her to keep me and my family in her prayers! Susie was also my "Rock" during some of my darkest days! Saying that I will miss her is a complete understatement! She will live forever in my heart!

Susie was a wonderful lady and she will be missed. She was a friend and full of life, she brought joy to anyone that knew her. She had a big and giving heart and I will miss her. I know she is shining bright in her new heavenly home. She is now my guardian angle to continue to watch over me.
Susie was a sweet, wonderful person and will be missed by many. I got to know her very well when I worked at Boone Drug, she was always a pleasure to talk to.
The world lost an amazing lady on January 11th. I will forever be grateful, and appreciative of the time spent together, the laughter shared, and the memories made since my time in college.

Aunt Susie was a jewel of a human. She loved live music. These words on her wall are a nice encapsulation of how she lived. Her dear friend Tiger was one of the celebrants at her 90th birthday in May of 2019. We will be carrying her spirit forward in our hearts and in our music. She was dearly loved. And she was the queen.
