Obituary of Mark Dennis Taylor

Mark Dennis Taylor, age 64, of Boone, the Foscoe community, passed away November 8, 2020. Mark was born February 29, 1956 in Watauga County to Creed and Maud Ruth Fox Taylor. He was a member of Foscoe Christian Church. Mark was retired from the US Navy where he served on the USS Enterprise Carrier. His duties took him to the Philippine Island where he developed a love for the local people and their culture. Always an avid outdoorsman, Mark enjoyed hiking, camping and picnicking, and loved big game archery hunting and trout and bass fishing. He is survived by his brother, Terry Taylor and wife, Judy Humphrey of Boone, sister, Jodi Taylor Perry and husband, John, of Thomasville, and brother, David Taylor and wife, Mary, of Banner Elk; nephew, Jeremy Perry and wife, Wendy, of Nicaragua; niece, Mary Rachel Taylor of Chicago, Ill. and aunt, Betty Sue Anderson and husband, J.C., of Abington, VA. A number of cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ned Joe Taylor. Private Military graveside honors will be scheduled at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN.
