Eddie was such a joy to know! Before covid, I used to play trumpet at Brian Estates, and Eddie always loved to lead us in singing "How Great Thou Art." I'm sure he's singing joyfully now with the saints in glory. May he rest in peace. -Rev Jeff McClain, Boone UMC

I will always remember Eddie. He always had a smile, was endearing and brought light with him, not only in church but when I encountered him in town and at Wal Mart. God bless him and the way he and gentle souls like him touch our souls. Prayers for him and for the family. Roger Bodo

I met Eddie at ABE when my Mother was there and later also saw him at Glenbridge before she passed away last March. His smile and joy were infectious. He was always quick to open the door for us and greet us. We enjoyed visiting on the porch. He was excited and ready when he waited on his ride to work. He definitely brightened our day! Praying your happy memories will comfort you and bring you smiles!

The best memories of summers with my grandparents growing up were spent with Uncle Ed. Drinking his iced tea - the self proclaimed "Best Ice Tea Ever" after a he taught me how to play horseshoes. Once we perfected horseshoes we moved onto shoot pool. Great memories. Going to miss you Uncle Ed. Give Pop and Mother a hug!!!

As a former Special Olympics coach for Eddie, I can't help but smile when the thought of him crosses my mind. He was ALWAYS smiling and laughing...an absolute gem & shining star in this sometimes dark world. Later, when he no longer trained and competed with Special Olympics, I would see him at Appalachian Brian Estates when I visited to do crafts with the residents. He'd join in, and was so proud of what he'd make. What he always made was friends...someone's day...and a lifelong legacy of joy. "God bless you, my dear..."

We the Witherspoon would like to offer our condolences for the passing of our dear cousin Eddie. From the time I was a little boy I have always loved and cherished the times that I was around Eddie. Eddie was always a ray of sunshine to anyone he was around. His smile could melt the heart of any person he came in contact with. Whenever I had the chance to go see Uncle Hal & Aunt Ola he was always the first person you would meet when you opened the door and the last one to say goodbye to you when you left. I know Eddie is now safe in the arms of the Jesus that he was so proud to call his Savior and he is now back in the company of Uncle Hal, Aunt Ola, & Cousin DH. Eddie we will see you again just as my Lord has promised.
