Obituary of Richard Harold Greer

Richard Harold Greer, age 79, of Blakeman Dr., Boone, passed away from complication related to Covid-19 Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 10, 1940 in Watauga County, he was a son of Joe and Cora Belle Greer. Richard owned and operated Greer Wholesale from 1973 until his retirement in 1999. Always a man with a positive attitude, Richard was Happy, Fun and Funny. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, sharing jokes and golfing. He is survived by his wife, Doris Weaver Greer of the home, son, Scott Louis Greer of Durham and his beloved extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert James Greer, stepfather Paul Joseph Greene and his father and mother-in-law, Elzie and Grace Weaver. Graveside services for Richard Greer will be conducted Sunday afternoon, September 20th, at 3 o'clock at the Weaver Family Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Curtis Millens. Due to Covid-19, the family respectfully requests social distancing and to please wear a mask when attending services.
