I remember Helen Stroupe from First Baptist Church which I attended with my parents Ed and Helen Gill.
She was always friendly and seemed to have boundless energy- which was apparently true judging from her many accomplishments. My condolences to her family.

I can tell that your mother will be missed and remembered by all that knew her best. I only saw her once and I could tell she was a sweet soul. I hope that time will provide comfort.

We send our warmest thoughts and condolences on the passing of this wonderful woman who gave so much to her family, her community, and her profession. It was a joy to be with her at NCRSP gatherings and to see the example Lee and Anita set in their care and concern for her.

My deepest sympathies to you, Lee and Anita, and your family in the loss of one so dear. I know that you gave her loving care as it was needed. I also remember meeting her at our retired teachers’ meetings. She has left an enduring legacy to both her family and our community. God be with you all.

Helen was a beautiful woman in every way. I loved talking to her about anything and everything. I believe she was an angel here on earth and now in heaven.

My husband, Howard Love, was principal at Mabel when Helen started teaching there. She was one of his favorite teachers because of her ability to relate to all students, but mostly because she cared so much for everyone. Helen will be missed by
everyone.

She was my 4th grade teacher at Mabel Elementary School. I loved her so much that it was the only year I never missed a day of school and she gave me a .50 coin. In my adult working years as a social worker, I recalled things I learned in her class to this day, but most of all, the graceful way she treated every student. I always wanted to be like her. She was amazing and made me feel like I was as important as anyone. I’ll never forget her... I look forward to seeing her in Heaven. Much prayers and thoughts to her family.
