Every one has childhood memories that they carry with them all through their lives and one of my favorite memories of my childhood is when preacher Bill Miller was visiting Hardin Road Baptist Church or Pilot Mountain Baptist Church with his family. He always had the biggest smile that would light up the room. He was the first preacher who got my attention and kept me awake all through the service with his big voice and I would try and hold my breath as long as he could preach without taking a breath. He was so loud I just knew he was going to break the windows out. I was saved at revival while he was preaching and he had the biggest tear in his eye as he hugged me. My sisters and I loved him and his family so much. I can only imagine just how sweet heaven is having Bill there with his big personality and love for everyone. Love and prayers for each of his beautiful family.

There are some people in our lives that leave a lasting impression on us, Preacher Bill and Mrs. Gayle are two of those people in my life. Although circumstances and time divided us there has not been hardly a day that has went by that I don't think of them. Preacher Bill married Andy and I over 20 years ago, came to visit us in the hospital when we had our 3 children, he helped in the baptism of 2 of my children, and he was there during times of loss in my life. I was able to listen to many messages that Preacher Bill preached in the time he was pastor at Peace Haven Church in Lansing. He always preached the truth from the KJV bible and many times his messages "stepped on my toes", but I was able to grow from those in my walk with Christ. I appreciate the man of God he was, his faithfulness, and his obedience to God. Bill always encouraged me to keep pressing on. You could call Bill anytime of the day and ask him for prayer and he would pray for you right there on the phone. One of my favorite phrases Preacher Bill would say when preaching was "using this place as a blasting pad toward heaven", there were times in his messages that he got happy and was ready to use the pulpit as his blasting pad. Preacher Bill I love you and appreciate you and the life that you lived in front of me and my family, I will see you in heaven someday. To Gayle and the rest of the family we love you all and pray for the peace of God and comfort in the days ahead. I am glad there will be a reunion day and that our grief and sadness are only temporary. With love, Andy, Natasha, Brooke, Chloe, and Ethan Goodman
