To Jeffrey and Rachel, we send our sympathy to you upon the loss of your amazing mother, whose life touched mine in so many ways for years and years. We both sang in the First Baptist Church choir and sat by each other in the soprano section. One of my first memories was of you, Rachel, when you were a newborn. Cecil would sit in the pew rocking you gently throughout the entire church service. What a wonderful mother she was to you and Jeffrey. We were both in the Appalachian Chorale for 40 years together, and were in the dance club for many years. Jimmy and Cecil were great dancers and I can still see them twirling around the dance floor. As you can see, both of your parents made our lives in Boone so very special and we will miss Cecil so much.

Jeff & Rachel & Family -
So very sorry for your loss. Cecil and Jimmy were our dear friends from the time we arrived at ASU in 1971. We served on committees at FBC, ASU, and big time local politics in Boone. We fondly remember you, their children, from an early age. Heartfelt prayers and sympathy for you all.
Grace and peace,
Larry & Ann Keeter

Dear Jeffrey and Rachel,
I worked many, many years ago with Cecil in the faculty development office at ASU. After not seeing her for years, I ran into her at WMC, immediately recognized her, and was able to ask about you by name. After all these years I still remembered your names because she spoke so often, so fondly, and so proudly about both of you. I am so sorry for your loss. Both Jimmy and Cecil were very dear members of our community, and will be missed by all.

I knew Cecil through WCS. I worked a couple of summers for her at the CO so she could have some extra time off. She was always very pleasant. I saw her again at Foley as my parents were on the same hall as she was. I spoke to her on a couple of occasions. So sorry for your loss. Prayers for all.

Cecil was the face of the Board of Education office. She was always kind to me. I'm certain God has made her even more comfortable and welcome than she did visitors to the Board office.
