To Ralph's family, I was truly blessed to know Ralph and Shirley as neighbors and friends. What an incredible couple they were! So loving and caring. Actually, CARING should be in all capital letters. I was fortunate enough to be able to speak at Shirley's funeral, so now I want to remember Ralph. Whenever someone, or some organization, needed help, Ralph was there. He could do anything--Mr. Fix It! He had the energy of two Enigizer Bunnies and was always ready to go. He was a great neighbor in Old Keller Farm, working on the roadside, shoveling snow, you name it. He loved helping the Blue Ridge Parkway and was named its "Volunteer of the Year." He was almost a staff member at Boone Presbyterian Church he was there so many days. His example has been an inspiration to me. Always upbeat, always positive, always can-do, a treasure to be around. Same goes for Shirley. I will miss them both, always remember them and always be grateful for their love and caring of others. Being his family, you know what I am saying better than anyone.
