I will always remember Steve cooking at the Archer family reunions. He was always someone you could have a conversation with, and I truly will miss him.

I am Celia's niece. We were so sad when we heard Steve & still can't believe it. We loved him & considered him family. He & Celia would visit my parents often & it was always fun to see him & talk to him. Several mths back, he sent my son some old bball stuff. They were talking about bball when he was here last. It was sweet, unexpected, my son loved it & will never forget his kind gesture! Thoughts & prayers to Celia, Julie & Steve's family. Much love to you all & may Steve rest in peace.

We are very saddened at the passing of Steve, and we considered him family (Celia is my maternal aunt). He will be remembered for his jokes and funny stories and snarky but gentle humor. I was always glad when Steve was able to come to the family reunions, and for many years, Murphy's was also a part of those reunions. I treasure those family memories of Boone and visiting Celia and Steve. Our prayers are with Celia, Julie, his brothers and families at this time. God be with us all at this scary time in history. Ken, Marcy, Haley and Evan Pratt

I was totally shocked to see the obituary for Steve in today's Democrat. Al and I enjoyed seeing Steve and Ceil at Murphy's every Sunday when we ate there after church. Of course, we knew Ole from church and Al went to St. Olaf so that was an extra bond. I'm thinking you must be aware that Al passed away on December 18. I had not heard anything about any illness that Steve may have had so I guess that added to my surprise. I hope that Ceil sees this since I didn't really know Steve's brothers. You are in my prayers, Ceil!
Love & blessings,
Cinda Williamson

Steve and I traveled across the country in our college days. He was a good guy and his family treated me like family. RIP my friend.
