Dear family, I am so sorry for the passing of Jim, but so thankful he didn’t have to suffer. To hear him singing in the hospital with the NG tube down his nose was just amazing! I have so many fond memories of him from childhood when I was staying with Kathy. I know you all have many fond memories of him that will get you through the rough days ahead. I am here for all of you, any time, day or night. Love you all. Teresa Lawley

I was fortunate to get to know Jim while working with him at Weber-Hodges Realtors. He was fun to talk with and I got to know him even better when we played golf at Boone. I will miss his conversations and I will never forget his singing at Mr. Glenn Cottrell's funeral. Hope he doesn't get the yips in heaven. Barney Hodgson

Jim was certainly a memorable friend and member of the choirs at Mount Vernon. His lively conversations and laughter were always a pleasure and something that I looked forward to as a staff member of Mt Vernon. Jim became more than just a friend to our family due to his love, concern and prayers for us. He began to call himself Papa Jim to our kids when they were young and the nickname stuck. I have a couple of phone messages saved on my phone where he had called to check in on me and see how I was doing. Papa Jim was one of a kind and will be dearly missed! Much love and prayers sweet family. —- Brenda Isaacs

Enjoyed many hours of friendship with Jim at church (Mt. Vernon Baptist Church) and golf rounds at the Boone Golf Club -- so sorry Jim's family and friends who will miss him here on this earth, but I'm sure he is now face to face with our Lord Christ Jesus and asking many questions.

Dearest Kandy and family,
Bless your hearts! Rejoice and know that your dad is with Jesus now. Trust in the Lord and lean on Him, He will never leave you, nor forsake you. My dad passed 23 years ago, and I understand what you are going through. Jesus is coming soon and what a sweet reunion we will have with our earthly Father’s, but most of all with our Heavenly Father! Glory! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you. I share with you my life verse, Jeremiah 29:11-13. May the Holy Spirit comfort you.
