Dear Will, I have been inspired by your fight for life, and saddened by the reality that you have moved on. Based upon geography we have never had a close relationship. We have had brief interactions in Pittsburgh from time to time as I might have been there, but due to my distance from the family I ‘ve never been able to fully enjoy your friendship. It’s not dissimilar to how I feel about your wife Margaret and her sisters. Over the years, time and place have separated our familial bonds such that today I am not more than a distant stranger. Know this though my friend, the impact you have had to those close to you has been great. I enjoy hearing the stories of those who I have had close relationships with over the years and how you impacted their lives. I am also inspired by Danielle’s journey to Tasmania. Ultimately all in our family are immigrants from somewhere else at some point in time. The mindset to be so adventurous has inspiration in your spirit. I serve as a resource for your daughters as they may seek any advice moving into the future, but am confidant that you, through character and faith, have done a complete job. Hopefully we can develop a more complete relationship on the other side. I’ll see you then. Jack O’laughlin

Willy will be greatly missed by every single life that boy touched. He was a true testament of living a God-filled life. He was such a bright light, if you were down, you didn't stay down long around Willy with his great wit and humor. Always kept life positive. Our years at WHS would have been very dull without him. 9 years to the day yesterday that Uncle Will took me to a Carolina basketball game. Then we got to meet Eric Montross which Uncle Will knew was my favorite Carolina player of all-time. Thank you for being a great Uncle and friend. I will always love you Uncle Will.
