I was saddened to learn of the passing of Miss Alma Ruth. She was very special to me and my dad, Claud. I remember that Dad would get in trouble with her when he and Joe Shuford would act up in choir at Greenway. It's hard to lose our precious parents and I send peace and comfort to the entire family. Jimmy and Margaret, Randy and Lisa, Leslie and Vicky, and Ronnie and Denise and families. I know this is a time for both sadness and rejoicing in your lives. Alma Ruth was such a blessing to all that she came in contact with. For me, she was both a best friend and sister in Christ. Her words were full of wisdom and from living close to the Lord. She will never be forgotten and neither will you all. You are like family to me. May Jesus wrap his loving arms around each of you and your children and give you much love a peace. Know that I care deeply for this family.

Last night I learned of the passing of one of my dearest friends in North Carolina. Over the years we shared our sorrows and our joys and though she was a few years my senior, we shared many things in common. Our love for our Lord Jesus first and foremost. We talked about our faith and our ultimate goals to be reunited with family and friends. She was a woman of GREAT faith. She lived close to the Lord and was a strong beacon of light to those around her. A praying woman, she loved her family and prayed for them daily. Though I moved away from the area, I tried to make time to visit with both James and Alma Ruth whenever I went back to Boone. Even though a few years had passed, we were always able to pick right back up from where we left off. She was not only a best friend, but a sister in Christ. I look forward to seeing you on the other side of Jordan, Alma Ruth Marsh.

Ronnie, Denise, and all of the Marsh family: I am so very sorry for your loss of Mrs. Marsh. I had the pleasure of knowing both Mr. and Mrs. Marsh when I worked in Founders Hall, directly across from their house at the time. They were two of the kindest people I have ever known. It was always a pleasure to see them out and about and to exchange pleasant conversations along the way. I know Mrs. Marsh will be greatly missed by her entire family and all who knew her.
