Obituary of Ralph F. Lewis

Mr. Ralph Forrest Lewis, age 75, of Hwy 194 North, Boone, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2012. Born April 6, 1937 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late James and Alice Church Lewis. Ralph was the owner and operator of Lewis Garage and Muffler for over 40 years. H was a member of Hopewell Community Church. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Miller Lewis; one son, Terry Lewis and wife, Marta, of Boone; two step-children, Kenneth Wilcox of Kentucky and Deborah Laws of Wilkesboro; one granddaughter, Cassie Lewis of Boone; three step-grandchildren, James Wilcox, Jennifer Proffit and Wayne Laws; one step-great grandson, Elija Brown; one sister, Ruth Yarber of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and three brothers, Earl Lewis and wife, Connie, of Todd, Kermit Lewis and wife, Ella Mae, of Mountain City, and James Lewis and wife, Joann, of Shelby. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Greer; and four brothers, Roy, Emory, Austin and Howard Lewis. Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Forrest Lewis will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Edwin McKinney and Rev. David Lunceford. Burial will follow at the Hopewell Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
