Obituary of Max Barlow

Mr. Kenneth Max Barlow, age 71, of Reas Street, Boone, passed away Wednesday morning, August 15, 2012 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born June 17, 1941 in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late Fredrick and Alma Greene Barlow. Max was retired from ASU, and worked at Ride with Pride Carwash for a number of years. He was a member and Sunday School Teacher at Proffit�s Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by one sister; Henrietta Johnson and husband Gary of Prospect, Ohio, two brothers; Doug Barlow and wife Pat of Boone, and Gaither Barlow and wife Carolyn of Madison, NC, a long time friend; Barbara Campbell of Vilas, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Barlow. Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Max Barlow will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Proffit�s Grove Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 o�clock. Officiating will be Rev. Delmar James and Rev. Eugene Braswell. Military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 130 and burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Proffit�s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Jeanette Huff, 279 Henry Winebarger Road, Boone, NC 28607. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 o�clock until 7:30 at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
