Obituary of Barbara Jean H. Cornell

Mrs. Barbara Jean 'Jeannie' Hayes Cornell age 67, of Laurel Fork Road, Vilas passed away Thursday morning, April 26, 2012, at her home. Born March 15, 1945 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of Mildred Coffey Hayes and the late Blaine Hayes. Mrs. Cornell was employed with Boone Urology for 21 years. She was a lifetime member and organist at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. Jeannie is survived by her husband Jerry Cornell; her children, Tommy Cornell and wife Brenda, of Vilas, Beaver Cornell and wife, Lori, of Mountain City, Tennessee, and Jackie Ward and husband, Sonny, of Vilas; her mother, Mildred Coffey Hayes of Vilas; seven grandchildren; Blaine Cornell of Apex, David Cornell and wife, Marisa, of Vilas, Alisha Cornell of Vilas, Taylor Cornell of Mountain City, Tennessee, Mikaela Cornell of Vilas, Kortney and Wesley Bodenhamer both of Mountain City, Tennessee; one great granddaughter; Jovie Cornell of Vilas; and her sister, Joanne Townsend and a special nephew, Justin Townsend, both of Vilas. She was preceded in death by her father, Blaine Hayes and her brother-in-law, Gale Townsend. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2012, at 2 o�clock at Adams Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Wynn Greer, Rev. Carl Wilson, Rev. Ray Greene and Rev. Melvin Hodges. The family will recieve friends Saturday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
