Obituary of Cline Greene

Mr. Cline Greene, age 85, of Pine Swamp Road, Fleetwood, died Monday morning March 5, 2012 at Margate Health & Rehabilitation. Born November 22, 1926 in Watauga County he was a son of the late Judson and Hettie Wellborn Greene. Mr. Greene was a Veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army. Cline was a farmer and member of Old Fields Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and member of the Budget and Finance Committee. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; Kathryn Goodman Greene, one son Chris Greene of Fleetwood; two sisters; Bonita Stewart of Wilkesboro, and Carolyn Austin of Boone, one brother; Hershel Greene and wife Imogene of Deep Gap, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles, Troy and Riley Greene. Funeral services for Mr. Cline Greene will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Old Fields Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Miller. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 o�clock. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Old Fields Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Sally Walters, 5375 Idlewild Road, Fleetwood, NC 28626.
