Obituary of John R. Pitts

Mr. John Richard Pitts, age 63, of Sunny Acres Overlook, Boone, died Tuesday evening, February 28, 2012 at Watauga Medical Center. Born November 21, 1948 in Hickory, he was a son of the late John Edward �Ed� Pitts and Evelyn Miller Pitts. John was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Boone Optimist Club. He was a retired salesman for Mountain Heritage Systems. He is survived by his wife; Pam Pitts, one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Pitts, one son; Avery Richard Pitts all of Boone, his mother; Evelyn Miller Pitts of Hickory and one brother; Dennis Edward Pitts of Cary. Funeral services for Mr. John Richard Pitts will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Vicar Jonathan Weant. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family respectfully requests no flowers and suggests memorials to the Boone Optimist for Youth Activities, in care of Bob Peay, 165 Marion Avenue, Boone, NC 28607.
