Rachel Webster Eggers, 73, widow of John Brandon Eggers, Sr., formerly of 132 North Fork Road, Zionville, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her residence.
Born March 3, 1938 in Ashe County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Fred Raymond Webster and Mae Brown Sutherland Webster. She was a member of Boiling Springs OES Chapter # 283 where she served as Marshall, and was also a member of Greenpoint Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult 5 Sunday School class and the Healing Hearts. She retired from TRW-IRC Corp.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John B. Eggers and wife Betty of Chesnee, SC, sisters, Jimmie Kirby of Louisville, KY, Janelle Lindhorst of Asheville, NC, and grand-dog, Bubba Eugene Eggers.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn W. Combs and a brother, Jack Webster.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Mabel United Methodist Church in Zionville, with Rev. Dr. David Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mabel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 5932 Old US Highway 421, Zionville, NC 28698.
