Gracie Harmon Trivett, age 101, of the Clark Trivette Road, Sugar Grove, died Sunday evening, February 17, 2008, at her home. She was born December 24, 1906 in Vilas to Oscar and LuCretia Miller Harmon. Mrs. Trivett was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, homemaker and wife of 55 years to the late Clark Aaron Trivett. Mrs. Trivett is survived by: two daughters, Vada Cornett and husband Beecher of Vilas; and Georgia Lunceford of Sugar Grove; two sons, Ira Trivette and wife Blanche of Banner Elk and Teddy Ray Trivette and wife Mildred of Mt. Airy; fourteen grandchildren, Mitzi Price, Tammy Jones, Jeffrey and Joyce Trivette, Michael and Allison Trivette, Angela Hicks, David, Kenneth, Tracy and Andy Lunceford, Liz Greer, Teddy Ray Manuel and Melba Hull; thirty-one great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; one brother, John Harmon of Live Oak, Florida; a special niece, Shirley LaGow of Banner Elk, a special daughter-in-law, Maxine Trivette of Sugar Grove, and a special friend, Judy Harmon of Vilas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Fred Trivette, a grandson, Anthony Trivette, five sisters, Iris Harmon, Frankie Harris, Burlie Harmon, Gertie Harmon and Rita Hicks and by four brothers Eli, Monroe, Horace and Smithy Wayne Harmon. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Zion Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. James Hagaman, Rev. David Lunceford & Rev. Andy Lunceford. Burial will follow in the Trivette Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8 o'clock at Austin & Barnes.
