AUGUST 15, 2007 Mrs. Ovela Barlowe Fox, age 94, of NC Hwy 105 South, Banner Elk, the Foscoe community, died Tuesday evening, August 14, 2007 at home. Born May 16, 1913 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh Ernest and Laura Josephine Stamey Barlowe. Mrs. Fox was a member of Watauga Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are: four daughters; Pansy Aldridge of Foscoe, Sue Gragg and husband Dayton of Blowing Rock, Alvareeta Barrier and husband Reed of Jonas Ridge, and Rosemary Stamey and husband Raymond of Jonas Ridge, three sons; Wade Fox and wife Emma of Marion, James Fox of Foscoe, Gary Fox and wife Melissa of Foscoe, one sister; Mary Styles of Marion, twenty four grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Adam Fox, two grandchildren; Tim and Marilyn Barrier, three brothers; Robert "Max" McCoy, Dona nd Kay barlowe, two sisters; Bobbie Lee McCoy and Ruby Couture. Funeral services for Mrs. Ovela Barlowe Fox will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2o'clock at Grace Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Jones and Rev. Justin Deaton. Burial will follow in the Jestes Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from noon until 2 o'clock at Grace Baptist Church.
