Obituary of Reverend James D. Hagaman

December 8, 2011 Rev. James Dale Hagaman, age 75, of Old US 421, Zionville, died Thursday morning at home. Born July 12, 1936 in Watauga County he was a son of the late Rev. John S. Hagaman and Nellie Wilson Hagaman. James was a US Army Veteran, having served two tours with the Field Maintenance Unit of the US Army Corps of Engineers. Rev. Hagaman was an ordained Baptist Minister and was the Pastor of Zionhill Baptist Church, Rich Mountain Baptist Church and Beech Mountain Baptist Church. James was a faithful employee of Austin & Barnes Funeral Home for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife Mayselle Glenn Hagaman, one daughter; Sue McGhinnis and husband Jerry of Sugar Grove, one son; Jeff Hagaman and wife Barbara of Vilas, three grandchildren; Candace Hagaman, Thomas McGhinnis and Isaac McGhinnis, his brothers and sisters; Royce Hagaman and wife Susan of Huntersville, Margaret �Peggy� Sipe of Zionville, Janice Ritenour and husband Donald of Springfield, VA, Jerry Hagaman and wife Robyn of Johnson, SC, David Hagaman of Vilas, Terry Hagaman and wife Sherry of Ellenboro, NC and Barbara McElyea and husband Johnny of Zionville, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister; Betty Hagaman Greear, one brother; Jack Garland Hagaman and one nephew; Shannon Hagaman. Funeral services for Rev. James Dale Hagaman will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Herbert McCoy and Rev. Ray Sipe. Graveside services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to NC Baptist Children�s Home, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 o�clock until 8 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
