Obituary of Grant P. Harrold

Mr. Grant Piercy Harrold, age 55, of Sunshine Lane, Lenoir, died Tuesday evening, December 6, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. Born November 23, 1956 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Roby Eugene and Pearl Piercy Harrold. Grant was a retired law enforcement officer having served with the Lenoir Police Department and the Granite Falls Police Department. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as the Brotherhood Director, usher and was a former RA Leader. Grant was also a member of Gideons International. He is survived by his wife; Sherry Austin Harrold, two special sons; Chad Powell and wife Kristin of Lenoir and Mark Powell of Granite Falls, and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Grant Piercy Harrold will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Fellowship Baptist Church in Hudson. Officiating will be Dr. Jason Guyer and Rev. James Hamby. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lenoir. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday afternoon from 1 o'clock until 3 o'clock at Fellowship Baptist Church.
