Obituary of Raymond Miller

Mr. Raymond Olen Miller, age 78, of Niley Cook Road, Blowing Rock, died Wednesday evening, October 26, 2011 at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born June 20, 1933 in Spencer, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Albert and Lizzie Greene Miller. Mr. Miller worked for Willo-Hill Industries in Willoughby, Ohio as a machinist and quality control manager. Raymond worked and raised his family in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a proud member of the AFL-CIO and served as President of the local union. Raymond was an advocate for worker�s rights, and traveled to Washington to represent the union. He also volunteered for the Disable American Veterans in Ohio. A resident of Glenbridge for many years he took an active role in coordinating entertainment activities for the residents. He is survived by his wife; Joyce Norris Miller, one son; Timothy Miller of Boone, one daughter; Amy C. Miller of Blowing Rock, two grandsons; Justin Miller of Boone and Cory Miller of Willowick, Ohio, three granddaughters; Courtney Miller of Boone, Sally Miller Hicks and husband Garrett of Vilas, and Nicolette Miller of Willowick, Ohio, one sister; Joene Wilson and husband Robert of Spencer, Tennessee, three nephews and one niece. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Barry Miller. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Raymond Olen Miller will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Roten.
