Obituary of James A. Dugger

Mr. James Allison Dugger, age 83, of Boone, passed away Friday evening at Blowing Rock Hospital. Born March 26, 1928 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late John Gray and Ruth Combs Dugger. Mr. Dugger was a US Navy Veteran having served during WWII. He retired as a civil engineer from the NC Department of Transportation and was also a private land surveyor. James was a member of Perkinsville Baptist Church. He was a former member of Willowdale Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Church Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He also served on the Boone Town Council.
He is survived by his two daughters; Dianne Huffman and husband Greg of Blowing Rock and Debbie Marshall and husband Rick of Tucson, Arizona and three grandchildren; Lindsay Marshall of Raleigh, and Eli and Jacob Norris of Big Stone Gap Virginia and a special friend Ruth Wright of Boone. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Winebarger Dugger and one brother Gordon Shelton Dugger.
Funeral services for Mr. James Allison Dugger will be conducted Sunday afternoon October 2 at 2 o�clock at Perkinsville Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Harold Bennett. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Mabel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
