Vicki Leigh Jackson Griffith, age 56, of Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, and a former resident of Watauga County, died Thursday morning, September 22, 2011 at her home. Born June 14, 1955 in Raleigh, she was a daughter of Jean Jackson and the late Jim Jackson. She attended God�s Country Church in Mountain City. Before her disability, Vicki was a teacher�s assistant at Greenway Baptist Church Child Development Center in Boone. Ms. Griffith is survived by her fianc�, David Sexton of Mountain City; her son, William Glenn Griffith II and wife, Natasha, and three grandchildren, Lexi, Cade and Gavin Griffith, all of Newland; her mother, Jean Jackson of Boone; three sisters, Brenda Hardwick and husband, Dan, of Willow Springs, Debra Miller and husband, Bob, of Boone, and Diane Miller and husband, Tim, of Wake Forest; four nieces, Melissa Roman, Kimberly Hardwick, Heather Burgos, and Brooke Miller; and three nephews, Brad Miller, and Travis and Dylan Miller. Three great nieces and two great nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2011, at 3 o�clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Bryan Griffith. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 until 3 o�clock, one hour prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens.
