Rebecca Marsh, 80, of Boone, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Blowing Rock Hospital. She was supported throughout by the presence of her extended family. Born October 7, 1930 in Boone, she is the daughter of GK Moose, the founder and owner of Boone Drug Co., and Effie Heffner. She attended St. Mary�s Preparatory College in Raleigh and earned a master�s degree in English from the Appalachian State Teachers� College. Ultimately serving as a high school English teacher at Avery County High School for more than 30 years, she was a consistent source of humor and inspiration for her students. When she wasn�t teaching, she read extensively, gardened, and loved her children and grandchildren. Hers was a giving, encouraging love that fostered self-discovery in all that were touched by her. She will forever be a part of us. She is survived by her daughter Sally Ann Marsh and Michael Hughes of Boone, Sam and Michelle Marsh of Cary, NC and Robert and Bev Marsh of Boone. Surviving grandchildren are Nathan Meier, Emily Marsh, Kevin Marsh, Rebecca
Meier, Sarah Marsh, Sean Marsh, Matthew Marsh, Jack McAlister, and Jacob Marsh.
Memorial services for Rebecca Marsh will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 1 o�clock at St. Luke�s Episcopal Church. The family respectfully requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor�s choice.
