Wanda Cook Fox, 48, of Rocky Point Acres, Deep Gap died Tuesday evening, August 16, 2011 at home. She was born February 21, l963 in Watauga County. Wanda was an executive administrative assistant at ASU. She was a member of Laurel Springs Baptist Church where she served with the choir, as an organist, and taught children�s music.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Wendell Fox; daughters, Brittany Leigh Fox of the home and Shannon Danielle Fox of Wake Forest; sister, Ann Thomas and husband, Dwight, of Zionville; her parents, Thomas B. and Wilma Vines Cook, of Zionville; and nephews, Garrett and Spencer Thomas, both of Zionville, Randy Finger of Raleigh, and Rick Finger of New York City.
Several aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elmer and Ola Fox, and sister-in-law, Janice Fox Finger.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2011, at 4:30 at Laurel Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Brent Bolick and Rev. Mack Tester. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 4:30 PM prior to services, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to High Country Health Care Systems/HOSPICE, 400 Shadowline Drive, Suite 100-B, Boone, NC 28607.
