Obituary of Commodore D. Keller

Mr. Commodore Darrell Keller, 71, of Black Mountain Center and a former resident of Sugar Grove, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Born February 20, 1940 in Watauga County, he was a son of the late Joseph Alexander and Lillie Laws Keller. He is survived by three sisters; Arlene Townsend of Elizabethton, TN, Jean Greene of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Ann Vines and husband Bob of Elizabethton, TN, two brothers; Roy Keller and wife Janice of Sugar Grove and Joe Ray Keller of Granite Falls, two sisters in law; Birdie Keller of Sugar Grove and Dorothy Keller of Butler, TN and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Alma Keller, Ruth Keller and Nell Foster; three brothers, Dale, Clarence and Billy Keller, one sister in law; Sara Keller and two brothers in law; Tommy Greene and Buddy Foster. Memorial services for Mr. Commodore Darrell Keller will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Green Valley Cemetery officiated by Rev. Donnie Tester. The family would like to thank the staff of the Black Mountain Center on R Unit II, Mark Clegg, Social Workers and Annette Harcourt and staff on Raspberry Unit R I for all their love and kindness in caring for Commodore.
