Obituary of Moses Haley

Moses Haley, age 5, of Flat Top Road, Blowing Rock, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at his home. He bravely battled rhabdomyosarcoma for 19 and 1/2 months. Omraam Moses Haley was born February 21, 2006 in Watauga County. He attended pre-kindergarten at Blowing Rock Elementary School. Moses loved fishing and chocolate ice cream, but the greatest love of his life was family and siblings.
Moses is survived by his parents, Lee Anne Haley and Scott Beshears; seven sisters and brothers: Alexandra and Haley Phan, both of Blowing Rock, Maddison Stumpfol of Keane, New Hampshire, Mackenzie and Hailey Beshears, both of Boone, Tyler Beshears of Blowing Rock, and Ryan Cavanaugh of Boone; his maternal grandparents, Carole and Bill Haley of Hilton Head, SC; his paternal grandfather, Edward Robinson of Columbia, SC; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Omraam Sadia Elhay.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, August 1st at 4 o'clock at the Boone United Methodist Church, 471 New Market Blvd., Boone, NC, officiated by Rev. Jason Byassee. Moses will lie in state at the church from 3 until 4 o'clock, prior to services, and the family will receive friends at the church one hour following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contrubutions may be made to Austin & Barnes Funeral Home to help offset expenses for Moses.
