Obituary of Robert R. Payton

Mr. Robert Randolph Payton, age 61, of Wildcat Road, Deep Gap, died Sunday afternoon, July 10, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center. Born February 13, 1950, in Asheville, he was a son of the late Edward James and Janie Elizabeth Johnson Payton. Robert was a kind and gentle soul, and was always ready with a smile. He enjoyed being around people and all kinds of music, especially country music. He is survived by two sisters; Mary Smith and Rethel Tina Jenkins and husband Kenneth all of Cleveland, Ohio, and two brothers; Jeffery Eugene Payton and wife Regina of Norcross, Georgia and Christopher Darnell Payton of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edward James and Janie Elizabeth Johnson Payton, one sister; Annie Belle Payton and two brothers; James Edward Payton and Bobby Lee Payton. Funeral services for Mr. Robert Randolph Payton will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 o�clock until 2 o�clock at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens.
