Mary Ellisen Barnes Ball, age 89, of 143 Berkley Avenue, Boone, died Monday morning, August 20, 2007 at Watauga Medical Center. Born August 11, 1918 in Warren, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of Lewis and Ruth Johnston Barnes. Mrs. Ball was a caregiver, homemaker and teacher. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Avon Park, Florida. Mrs. Ball is survived by; one daughter, Judy B. Miller and husband Ben of Boone; two sons, Don Ball and wife Beth of Boone and Allen Ball and wife Nita of Avon Park, Florida; three granddaughters, Debbie Miller of Apex, Kimberly Wright of Danville, Virginia and Karami Ball of Boone; five grandsons, Chris Miller and fiance' Dusty Lloyd of Kernersville, Buddy Ball and wife tina of Danville, Virginia, Jeremy ball of Boone, Brandon Ball and wife Carla of Avon Park, Florida and Derek ball and wife Jean of San Antonio, Texas; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Clayton Rhoades of Avon Park, Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregivers and special friends, Ellen Roark, Pam Blevins and Christie Roark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Clayton ball, two sisters, Pat Rhoades and Ruth Shaver and by her parents. A Celebration of Live service will be conducted Wednesday evening August 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church officiated by Dr. Ron Bowie. the body will lie in state at the church from 6 until 7 o'clock prior to the service. A reception will follow services at the church. Graveside services and committal will be conducted Saturday morning, August 25th at 10:00 AM at the Bougainvillea Cemetery in Avon Park, Floida officiated by Rev. Bill Breylingar.
