Sue Boyd Hood, age 67, of Junaluska Road, Boone, died Sunday evening, July 3, 2011 at the Watauga Medical Center. Born Mary Sue Boyd on October 7, 1943 in Dixon, Illinois, she was a daughter of Clifton and Mary Monahan Boyd. Sue was a registered nurse for more than 30 years and was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her husband, Rob Hood; two sons, Shawn Hood of Lenoir and Robin Hood and wife, Nicole, of Boone; and two grandchildren, Landyn Hood of Lenoir and Madeleine Hood of Boone. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Sue Boyd Hood will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Watauga County Unit of the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1903, Boone.
