Obituary of David Vaughn Whittington

Mr. David Vaughn Whittington, age 44 of Junaluska Road, Boone, died Sunday, June 26, 2011. Born in Watauga County April 29, 1967, he was a son of the late David Mack Whittington and Brenda Grimes Whittington. Vaughn worked at the Bank of America in maintenance, and attended the Boone Mennonite Church. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He is survived by his mother; Brenda Grimes Whittington of Boone, one son; David Zachary Whittington of Todd, three uncles; Cleveland �Buster� Whittington, James Goins and wife Louise and Adrian Goins and wife Belinda all of Boone, seven aunts; Sarah Bradshaw and husband C. R. of Granite Falls, Alice Flowers of Taylorsville, Priscilla Wade and husband Russell of Wilkesboro, Elizabeth Maxwell and husband Eugene of Deep Gap, Cora Cox and husband Harold of Galax, Virginia, and Felicia Foster and Shelia Goins both of Boone, three great aunts; Lala Grimes, Katherine Folk and Rachel Whittington all of Boone, and a number of cousins and special friends. Memorial services for Mr. David Vaughn Whittington will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Morris Hatton, Rev. Chris Eides, Rev. Harold Cox and Rev. Eric Proffit. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 o�clock until 3 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
