Obituary of Vivian P. Ward

Mrs. Vivian Parks Ward, age 83, of Milton Brown Heirs Road, Boone, and formerly of George�s Gap Road, Vilas, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center. Born May 26, 1928 in Saltville, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late V. W. and Myrtle Tester Parks. Vivian was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother to her family and a homemaker. Mrs. Ward is survived by one daughter, Eula Trivette and husband, Bill, of Vilas; three grandchildren, Amy Trivette and husband, John Osborn of Alexandria, VA, Marty Trivette and wife, Kellie, of Hartford, CT, and Melanie Tester and husband, Wayne, of Sugar Grove; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Guy Miedema of Kittery, Maine and Evelyn Parks Ward of Toledo, Ohio; one son-in-law, Bill McGuire of Vilas; and three sisters-in-law, June Parks of Boone, Julie Parks of Toledo, Ohio and Priscilla Guy of Kittery, Maine and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Glenn Ward, her daughter, Mary Helen McGuire, four brothers, Ed and Mance Guy and Dennie and Marvin Parks, and two sisters, Iva Dean Eggers and Betty Presnell. Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Parks Ward will be conducted Friday evening at 7:30 at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Donnie Tester and Rev. Bill McGuire. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 o�clock until 7:30 at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Greene Cemetery Fund, c/o Ivan Dishman, 539 Timber Ridge Rd., Sugar Grove, NC 28679. The family will be at the home of Eula and Bill Trivette, 281 Fox Trot Lane, Vilas. Graveside services and burial for Mrs. Vivian Parks Ward will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o�clock at the Greene Cemetery.
