Obituary of Charles L. Moody

Charles Len Moody, age 62, of Mountain Dale Road, Vilas, died Saturday morning, May 28, 2011. Born June 24, 1948 in Watauga County, he was a son of Gordon William and Florence Etta Glenn Moody. By trade, Charles was a carpenter. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building and selling bird houses at the Valley Crucis Fair. Charles was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
Mr. Moody is survived by his sister, Linda Loretta Seamon and one brother, Dwight Lee Moody, both of Vilas; his step-daughter, Christine Greene of Banner Elk; two step-granddaughters; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Eugene and Ford Joseph Moody.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 2011, at 2 o'clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Kenneth Banner. Burial will follow in the Mountain Dale Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Moody family to help with final expenses.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 8:30 at Austin & Barnes. At other times, the family will be at the home of Linda Seamon, 3590 Mountain Dale Road, Vilas.
