Obituary of Jean J. Wey

Mrs. Jean Jensen Wey, age 94, of 163 Shadowline Drive, Boone, died Tuesday afternoon at the Davant Extended Care Facility. She was born in Clay City, Indiana May 29, 1916 to the late Harl Wolfgang "Bud" Jensen and Parsa Grace Light Jensen. Jean was a graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College, having both a B. S. and M. A. in Education. Mrs. Wey was a teacher at Hardin Park Elementary School and was a life member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and Grace Lutheran Church. She is survived by four daughters; Buddie Udine Wetli of Miami, Florida, Linda Jean Leach and husband Ralph of Goldsboro, NC, Mary Jane Cruser and husband Roger of Peebles, Ohio, and Brenda Lee Wey and husband John Fillinger of Blowing Rock, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Herbert W. Wey, her second husband Calvin Watson and her parents; Harl Wolf and Parsa Grace Light Jensen. A memorial service for Mrs. Jean Jensen Wey will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor John Propst and Rev. Jonathan Weant. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jean J.
