Mr. James Conley �J. C.� Greene, Jr., age 89, of Ruth�s Lane, WhiteStone Masonic and Eastern Star home, Greensboro, and a former resident of Boone, passed away Monday morning, December 9, 2013 at home.
Born November 11, 1924 in Ashe County, he was a son of the late James Conley Greene, Sr. and Anner Watson Greene. Mr. Greene was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Navy. J. C. was the owner and operator of Boone Supply and a sawmill owner and operator. He was a former member of First Baptist and Oak Grove Baptist Churches in Boone. J. C. was a past master of the Masonic Snow Lodge 363, and also a member of Ashler Lodge, the Scottish Rite and Oasis Shrine.
He is survived by his wife Frances �Frankie� Teams Greene, one daughter; Linda Agnello of Johns Creek, Ga., one son, James C. �John� Greene, III of Raleigh, three grandchildren; Carly Agnello Bellard, Tristen Agnello Anderson and Christopher Greene, two great grandchildren; Madison and Eli Bellard, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mikayla Greene, four sisters; Lucy Clark, Bertie Blackburn, Eula Lawrence and Ruth Miller, and four brothers; Herbert, Kermit, Perry and Ira Greene.
Funeral services for Mr. J. C. Greene, Jr. will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Pat Knight will officiate.
Entombment will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 130. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 2 o�clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home.
