Mr. Larry Franklin Kemp, age 68, of North Fork Road, Zionville, died Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 2011 at the Davant Extended Care Facility. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, he was a son of the late William Bernard and Mary Alderson Kemp. Frank was a retired house painter. He was a volunteer with Horse Helpers of the High Country.
He is survived by two sons; Chad Kemp and Doane Franklin Kemp, three dogs; Sadie, Buddy and Skeeter, and two cats; Kitty Cat and Simon.
A memorial service for Larry Franklin Kemp will be conducted Friday morning, May 13, 2011 at 10 o'clock at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Horse Helpers of the High Country, 1199 Odes Wilson Road, Zionville, NC 28698 or to the Watauga County Hunger and Health Coalition, 141 Health Center Drive, Boone, NC 28607.
