Obituary of Elizabeth E. Tippin

Elizabeth Edmondson Tippin, age 79, of Oakwood Drive, Blowing Rock, died Wednesday evening, April 20, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Tippin is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim Tippin; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Moody and husband, Sonny, of Havana, Fla. and Barbara Ann Tippin of Raleigh; son, Mark James Tippin and wife, Shelly Berg, of El Dorado Hills, Cal.; three grandchildren, Emmet Berg Tippin of El Dorado Hills, CA., Katie Moody of Havana, Fla. and Amy Bell and husband, Jason, of Tallahassee, Fla.; great-grandson, Evan Bell of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Tom Edmondson and wife, Peggy of Nokomis, Fla. and John Edmondson and wife, Joyce, of Sunrise, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Edmondson of Venice, Fla. She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Gerald Tippin, a daughter, Cathy Tippin, one sister, Allie Edmondson and one brother, Bill Edmondson. Memorial services for Elizabeth Edmondson Tippin will be conducted Thursday evening, April 28, 2011 at 6 o'clock at Mountainside Lutheran Church in Linville and Sunday afternoon, May 1, at 3 o'clock at University Lutheran Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Tippin may be made to the Grandfather Home For Children, Post Office Box 98, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
